We own the controlling stake to internationally
patented spray sizing and coating technology.

We also continue developing our proprietary patented paper manufacturing process that has potential to produce high quality paper at up to 5% consistency. When completed the water consumption in paper forming section can be reduced up to 90%. When completed this process can produce so far unavailable precision engineered paper products with two major environmental bonuses:

DRYAD Group announce success and completion of their 2008 - 2009 sizing test program on a high speed pilot machine in Finland. The pilot machine remains available for commercial testing. We are happy to report that our pilot test program was a great success. As reported earlier we confirm now that we can put a film press quality starch layer on paper surface at desired starch loading level. We can also control the CD profile of this starch layer if that is desired and we consider adding moisture profiling option into the same unit. As reported earlier our sizing concept is simple and practical. The spray units require only little space and with that they can be added to almost any existing size press. Sizing itself is simple: we just spray the desired amount of high solids starch on paper surfaces and finish the paper to desired quality with the size press. The emphasis on our test program was on test liner. We can report that we can meet and exceed the paper quality requirements for the markets and can now offer a process using previously unattainable starch solids levels. We could not detect any deterioration in paper quality with this increasing starch solids. Our financially highly attractive sizing process is now available for testliner manufacturing and we do not see any impediments for it's use in any other paper and board grades. Why are we emphasizing testliner? We are looking for our first commercial deliveries and although this process is suitable for all paper and board grades the commercialization has to start somewhere and here the waste paper based testliners is a perfect fit for multiple of reasons including sizeable energy savings on the top. We are now confident that our process will be adopted in the industry. Our process makes easy and inexpensive retrofit opportunities for all those with an existing size press. We can reduce the use of wet end starch or perhaps in some cases even eliminate it. It is also conceivable that we should be able to create superior quality layered paper grades by using spray units between the layers. The development of paper coating continues and we are pleased to report that multiple thin layer coatings are promising new opportunities to develop paper coating beyond where it currently stands - we are ready for pilot machine testing.
Below are two examples how to install our patented system to size press area for cases where CD profiling is desired:
