DTI Directors announce preliminary results from high speed pilot tests in Finland (08/08/08) We are happy to report that the latest pilot tests in sizing board grade papers have been a great success with consequences. The preliminary test results confirm that we can now make a film press quality starch layer on paper surface at any desired starch loading level and at the same time even control the starch CD profile. This revolutionary process offers the paper makers a major high return investment opportunity. Discussions with the potential clients have started.
DTI Directors Announce Prizes for Collaboration (07/07/07) We are looking for researchers, prospective investors and early adopter customers. There will be 3 types of prizes: (1) additive innovations and ancillary technology will be added to our IP and entitle the prize holder to share in the royalty licensing. And qualified spray equipment suppliers can be licensed to produce DTI systems in total or in part. (2) Investors can buy shares in the development company and share in the development benefits. (3) Companies that can initiate retro-fit our low-cost low pressure spray system will pay a minimal royalty for the first application (10 % of equipment cost) and receive credit for a 5-year license. We will share our IP and business concept plus evaluating your innovations and intentions. The understanding for us based upon presentations to a leading global financial institution is that we need two working installations to establish credibility and their full support for financing a full business build-out. As this consortium grow and becomes successful, DTI are prepared to negotiate working cross licensing agreements, with other spray systems. Other systems that have not proved to be fully successful, might be used in conjunction with DTI low pressure systems. One option would be a pre-coating with these systems followed by DTI or possibly incorporating parts of DTI technology with the alternative systems for significant product quality improvements. References in our prior presentations are found in the two published articles available on this web site.
A Brief Comparison Between the Past and Present
Online paper profiling and conditioning with water spray has been practiced already over a half century. It works like a clockwork - so why have we not been able to do the same with paper sizing and coating? Of course the paper makers have tested this over again and again. Unfortunately, all the the previously available commercial nozzles either plug or wear out within a very short time period and the resulting production and maintenance nightmare is not readily acceptable for a 24/7 operation.
During the past few years we have solved the last remaining problems to secure the nozzle performance in all operating conditions, how to eliminate the aerosols and maintain the desired flow through each nozzle line. We are ready to move to commercial environment.
Our spray systems fit equally well to existing and new paper and board machines. Retrofitting to old machines will be relatively inexpensive in most cases.
We believe that we have a major performance advantages and a very low capital cost compared to the prevailing technologies in the industry. The current coating and sizing processes work just fine but all these processes have a low production efficiency. DTI technologies will match the quality and in many cases give a significant boost to the production while saving energy and chemicals at the same time.
